enable battery care vaio

I have recently installed ubuntu 9.04 on my vaio laptop, i remembered to back everything up before i formatted the hard drive but i forgot to disable the battery care. Sony battery care function is not working after windows 7 upgrade jw. jwinkler battery only charges up to 50%. in the vaio power management tool,. I think the battery care functionality might be enabled. but, i am not able to see any options for battery/power in vaio control center..
